Mary Vera Jakab (née Kobol) of Calgary, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the age of 79 years.
Mary was born on December 8, 1932 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan to Margit and Geza Kobol. She was raised in the Brooks area and moved to Calgary when she married in 1950.
She is survived by her daughters Sandra Jakab (Bob Lesperance Ashley and Jessica Hancock), Karen Mason (Mark Sarah, Michael), and Leanne Jakab. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Margie Kobol. She was predeceased by almost exactly 10 years by her husband, Andy Jakab, of 52 years, and by her brother, Bill Kobol.
A Memorial Service was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
