Obituary of John BENNETT

John passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Christmas day at the age of 91 years, after a long courageous battle with cancer. During WWII he served in the RCAF as a Wireless Air Gunner “WAG” John spent most of his working life in communications, first with the Alberta Forestry Department, then moved on to the Arctic with Marconi Company on the Dew Line, later with Federal Electric and Park Ambulance. His passions in life were photography, fishing, and playing the piano. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, No. 1 Branch, and the Masonic Lodge in Carstairs. John is survived by his younger brother Robert “Ches” (Bernice), nieces Bonnie (Dave) Matley, and their children Deanne and Kelly, Cherrie (Max) Zbrodoff, and their children Stacey and Jamie. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Queen’s Park Cemetery, Field of Honor.
