Obituary of Dorothy LOBLAW

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Dorothy Loblaw (nee Lawson) passed away January 8, 2012 at 84 years. Predeceased by her husband, Joe Loblaw, Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her five children --Mark, Bob (Debb), JoAnn (Don), Kathy (Paul), and Tim (Val) -- fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren plus many Loblaw, Lawson and Peterson relatives. Dorothy was born on the Lawson homestead in Shamrock, SK, although she grew up in the Parkbeg area. She graduated with the School of Nursing Class of 1949 of the Moose Jaw General Hospital. During this time, Dorothy met Joe. They wed in 1949 and eventually moved to Calgary. After raising five kids, Dorothy returned to nursing, focusing on elderly care. She worked at the Brentwood Nursing Home and the Bethany Care Centre before retiring in 1992. Faith and the Lutheran Church played an important role throughout Dorothy's life. Dorothy and Joe were charter members of Highwood Lutheran Church in 1956. A Memorial Service was held at Highwood Lutheran Church, 419 Northmount DriveN.W., on January 20, 2012 at 1:30p.m. A special thank you to all the healthcare providers at both Carewest George Boyack and the Jackson Willan Senior’s Residence who tended to Dorothy over the years. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Carewest George Boyack, or an organization of your choice.
