Obituary of Marion DIMOND

Marion Dimond of Calgary passed away on September 13, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Marion was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 28, 1933. She married David Dimond in 1952 and in 1957 they immigrated to Canada. In 1967 Marion and David moved to Calgary. Marion was a very strong woman with a great spirit and sense of humour. She loved to play scrabble, competing in the Canadian Western Regional tournaments. Marion’s family always came first in her life; she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Marion is survived by her daughter Eleanor (Ellie) Dimond; son Martin (Michelle) Dimond; granddaughter Kristina Piattelli; grandsons Joey Piattelli and Bradley Dimond; and her brother Ronald (Helen) Hodge as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, David in 1999. Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. A Private Family Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum at a later date.
