Doug Donegani passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 89 years at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary Alberta. Surrounded by his loving family he said goodbye. Doug was born in St. John New Brunswick, Canada. He lived in Montreal, Quebec City, New York NY, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Calgary. Doug served in The Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII in Western Air Command and was given the job of protecting the west coast of North America. He was also stationed at Alford Bay in the Queen Charlottes Islands. In 1942 Doug enlisted into the RCAF and 1946 he was discharged. He then also served in the RCAF from 1948 – 1953, then was employed at a large Canadian Insurance Company for 35 years. He transferred from the Winnipeg Office to Calgary, Alberta in 1978. Doug retired at 60 years of age and continued freelancing as a consultant in Calgary. Doug was a lover of horses and dogs. Xena will miss his buddy. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Miriam (Simcoe), sons Eric, Brent and his special grandsons Gerrit, Luke Mourits with their father Ron Mourits. Doug is also survived by his son Douglas Jr., granddaughter Renata and daughter Elaine Donegani. Doug is also survived by his brother Don and wife Joan of Winnipeg, MB. Doug was predeceased by daughters Carla Donegani, Laura Donegani and granddaughter Jordyn Gifford. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
