Obituary of Joan WATSON

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With love and sadness we announce the passing of Joan Watson on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the age of 81 years. Joan was born in Lethbridge, the oldest in a Pioneer farming family. She lived in Calgary for half of her adult life and the other half in Kelowna where she developed many cherished friendships. She was a member of the Kelowna International Choir, Newcomers Club, and numerous Bridge Clubs. Mom was very proud of her family and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as an exceptional, brilliant woman, and an inspiration to us all for how she handled her illness these last two years. Joan is survived by her three brothers Reg, Bill (Sheila) and Derwyn (Gail) Taylor, and lovingly remembered by her daughters Johnnette (Denny) Hall, Gayle (Danny) Sorensen and Andrea Watson; her grandchildren Shannon (Shayne), Ryan (Renee), Chris (Melissa), Jodie (Joe), and Stacy (Liam); ten beautiful great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty-one years Charlie, and parents Frank and May Taylor. A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the A.L.S. Society, www.alsab.ca or to the Agapé Hospice, (403) 282-6588. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Fong for her exceptional care of mom, and to Home Care, the A.L.S. Society, and the nursing staff at Agapé Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. ALBERTA BURIAL & CREMATION SERVICES Telephone: (403) 299-0123
