Obituary of Richard YERKA

It is with sadness that we announce that Richard (Rick) died suddenly of a heart attack at his home. Rick loved sports and supported the Calgary teams through thick and thin. While an experienced auto body painter, Rick was also an inventor and craftsman. He could make or repair almost anything and enjoyed doing it. He was primary caregiver for Betty through her illness and was also close to Vince’s mum, Pauline Mah. He doted on the families’ many pets, and took them on long bike rides and walks. He loved to listen to music and cook; his pizzas and cakes will be missed at family events. Rick will be remembered for his sense of humor, helping hand, innovative gifts and support for family and friends. He is survived by his sisters; Linda (Vincent) Mah, Sheryl (Charlie) Mikolcevic, and Kathryn Yerka; his niece Melodie Campbell (Ryan McCarthy) and his nephew David Campbell. He will be especially missed by Vince’s aunt, Vivian Mar and long-time family friends, May Parker and Dave Humphrys.
