Obituary of Edward KOKTS PORIETIS

Edward Kokts-Porietis passed away at Rockyview Hospital on July 13, 2012 at the age of 91years.
In 1951 Ed emigrated from Latvia to Calgary and married his beloved Janina. Ed worked for Calgary Transit for 34 years and was a long serving member of ATU 583. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Calgary as well as the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Ed is survived by his daughter Sylvia Kokts-Porietis (Anthony Fink) and his son Edwin Kokts-Porietis (Cheryle Becker); and six grandchildren: Alex, Leah, Kristof, Dana, Kelly and Renee. Ed was predeceased by his wife Janina in 2003.
Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Queens Park Cemetery, followed by a reception at his daughters home in Northwest Calgary. Attendees are invited to bring along a favorite captioned photo of Ed for a family scrapbook. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
