Obituary of John KLEIN

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John was born in Leduc to Emil and Alice Klein. John was predeceased by his three sisters, Margaret, Alice and Emily as well as both parents. He lost his wife Bernie in 2000. John is survived by his three children, Shirley Anne (John Welton), Jim (Marilyn) and Larry (Suzana); grandchildren, Bev, Joey, and Aida; great-grandchildren, Dallas, Jenna, Candace, Elliot, Lucas and Gabi. He also lost his great-grandson, Brad, in 1998. John worked at anything that would give him a meal and a bed until settling in Calgary where he drove a taxi, became a Palm Dairies Milkman and finally got on with the City Electric System where he retired as the Trouble Dispatcher. John’s real love outside the family was MUSIC. He taught himself to play the guitar and that led to a rewarding second career. He played with many groups including Trianon Big Band and the Stardells, his all time favorite. He played with many fine musicians and some of these became personal best friends such as Len Taylor (string bass), Bill Lewis (sax), Norm Faas (lead guitar), Chuck Faas (bass guitar), Ray Faas (drums) and Ron Barge (keyboards). A private family service will be held at a later date. HERITAGE FUNERAL SERVICES “Calgary Crematorium Chapel” Telephone: (403) 299-0111
