Dear Calitha and family, We were so sad when our dad contacted us a few days ago to let us know of Taiwo's passing. Taiwo was a wonderful gentleman, and we cared very much for him and for all of you. We have many happy memories growing up beside your family and getting to know each of you. It has been many years since we last saw Tai, but, we will never forget his contagious laughter, his bright smile and his joy for life, nor the kindness of your beautiful family. You were wonderful neighbors to live beside and we will never forget any of you, especially your dad. I know my own dad, Bill McCormick, is really missing your father. It is with great sadness that we learned of Taiwo's passing. My family have known Taiwo and his family since the 1970's and over the years we had some wonderful chats. Taiwo was a man of excellent character, honesty and wisdom, a great man you were proud to have as your friend and neighbour. When we first met as neighbours, Taiwo jokingly said he was Irish like myself. I thought for a few seconds and then he said his name was o'detunde, and yes that would make him Irish. ha ha. Our love and prayers are with Calitha and the family at this sad time and thank you for the wonderful memories of a great friend.

To the Odetunde family, I am so sorry for your loss. He was an amazing man, who was always in a good mood, always smiling. I will always remember that he used to greet me with singing the "Leila" song by Eric Clapton. His loss must feel like a silence, leaving you longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. Although you may not understand why he had to leave so soon, remember not just that he died, but that he lived. He got to see Richard grow into a young man that reminds me so much of his dad. He got to see his daughters Bola and Fehin not just grow up, but become mothers. And he got to spend time with and meet his grandchildren. He got to watch Charmaine grow up and walk her down the aisle at her wedding. He always had so much charisma, and spunk and he used to make me laugh so much. He will be greatly missed. I hope you find peace in your memories of him.
