Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
FORDEN, James Emerson, B.A., C.A. November 23, 1935 – October 21, 2013 Jim passed away in comfort October 21, 2013 after a lengthy and challenging illness that he bore with great courage, strength, and grace. Lovingly remembered by Janet, his supportive and caring wife and his close companion of 53 years, “The Kids” Jeffrey (Linda), Jonathan (Joanne), and Michele Ackerman (Kevin), and Grandkids Lindsey and Clinton Ackerman. He is also survived by his sister Rosemary Forrest and brothers Harley and Cornell, in Ontario. As a Chartered Accountant, Jim worked for C.I.L., U of C (assistant controller) and Scott National (Secretary Treasurer), before establishing his own successful firm which later joined with the accounting firm Doane Raymond. Jim was actively involved in many professional, community, and church committees and boards. Always busy, Jim mastered many skills, and he was able to repair, design and build most anything. He enjoyed family, the outdoors, travel, wine making, woodworking, and a good lively ‘discussion’. He leaves us with many happy memories, and an empty place in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at Okotoks United Church, 43 Riverside Drive on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. We are grateful to the wonderful and caring staff of Unit 47 of the Tom Baker Center, and Okotoks Home Care. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 Telephone: (403) 205-3966, email donorservices@cancer.ab.ca.
