Hearing about your mother has brought many wonderful memories of my interactions with her. All of you are a very important and influential part of my early years.
I recall many a time coming down to your house for a swim and, if near lunch time, your Mom gave us hot dogs for lunch. I remember her laughter and kidding me when I somehow seem to arrive at your door when a birthday cake of other dessert was just being served. Your mother was very generous in giving me part-time jobs at the store, receiving shipments in the warehouse, packing catalogue orders and the driving the brown station wagon to get packages to the post office before it closed. There was ample opportunity to learn through her firm leadership, dedication and passion for the store. It gave me a solid foundation that I have reflected upon many times. The impact of her life on each of you, me and multiple others has been, and will continue to be, very important and influential.
Each of you has extra attention in my thoughts now. I am privileged to have known your mother.

Bo & Family:
I was much saddened to see in the Globe & Mail that Betty died earlier. Her parents, Edith & John, were long time friends of my parents, Clarence & Helen McKee, and Mrs. Rhind a close antique-hunting friend of my wife Roz's, when we lived in Montreal and later here. Roz was forever saying "Mrs. Rhind taught me that!" John was a Bell V-P when I was with them, in fact I think got me interested in joining Bell, after taking Forestry! . And Betty took Home.Ec. with Roz Wiggs at McDonald, and first introduced me to her when she was in Toronto for a post-degree course. So I owe her a lifetime of happy marriage; our relationship was long standing and very close. Lost touch over the years after she ended her years with The Added Touch, and Roz died (in 2007). I know she had problems for many a year recently, and I'd not heard she'd moved to Calgary.
Betty was one of those friends it was always a pleasure to see or talk to - never seemed to have a dull moment during our times in touch ... always cheerful and a happy greeting.
Most sincere sympathies to all of the family. She'll be missed.

Hi Julie, Bill, Rob and David,
Can't tell you how sorry I am to learn that your mother - "Betts" in my books - has died. I will remember her in many wonderful ways... a neighbourhood Mom on Barringham Drive who was always so welcoming, her big smile and a laugh to match, the bridal shower she hosted in my honour, her no nonsense approach to work at "the store" as well as her kind, generous and forgiving ways when I did not always get it right as an employee. Your Mom was a wonderful workplace mentor for me. I LOLed when I saw the comment about dusting in the obituary. Her dusters were old cloth diapers as I recall. There are many wonderful memories of your mother that will live on in the memories I have of her and that will surely find me with a big smile on my face and maybe even laughing out loud (possibly a snort) as I recall them.
I hold you all in my thoughts as you grieve the death of your mother.
With Love to you all...
Jane (Campbell) Van Patter

To all of Betty Ann's family from the Montreal Campbells please accept our sincere condolences.
I left a message on Betty's answering service just three days ago. I had no idea she was no longer there until Lynn Blatchley, our cousin in Ottawa, told me about seeing her obituary in the Globe and Mail today.
Sincerely,
Joan, Jim and Gary Campbell
