Obituary of Elizabeth Ann CAMPBELL

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth “Betty” Campbell (nee Rhind) of Calgary passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Born in Montreal to Edith and John Rhind, Betty lived most of her adult life in Oakville, Ontario as founder and proprietor of The Added Touch, a specialty gift store and nation-wide mail order business, from 1961 through 1998. Betty took great pleasure in her work at “the store” with her hands-on approach to all aspects of the business: displaying (and constant dusting!) of merchandise, buying trips, and putting together advertising copy and catalogues on a rigorous schedule. Most importantly, she greatly enjoyed the many people and wonderful stories and adventures that enriched her life through these years. Since her departure from the store, she lived in Calgary close to her son Bill and his family and enjoyed new friendships at her retirement residence, Chateau Renoir. Betty maintained her unwavering positive attitude, sharp thinking, and beloved sense of humour through her last days. Betty is survived by her brother Robert (Bo) of Calgary; and children Julie (Seattle), Bill (Calgary), Rob (Switzerland), and David (Campbellville, Ontario). Betty is predeceased by her brother, John, age 19 during WW2.
