Ann and Family,
We are saddened to hear of your mother's passing, Ann. My path crossed with Betty's on several occasions given our proximity in the neighbourhood and, of course, through the teaching profession. My wife, Judy, knew your mother and particularly your father when he did some teaching at her school. We appreciated your mother's warmth, her humour, and her welcoming manner.
So here we are - the new torchbearers. Sad to see the ranks breaking . . .
Take care,
Ric

Mrs. Wolfe was my TA at Bishop Carroll High School In 1978-79 and 1980-81. I recall she was on sabbatical in 1979-1980. She was a kind and wise woman. Of note were her "family life" private talks with students and team building "taco parties" for her TA group. She tried to discourage me from going into social work and sometimes I wish I had paid heed - I didn't last long in the field during those National Energy Program days in Alberta. I was sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed. Rest assured that she made the world a much better place.

I remember having Betty's support one lonely Christmas when I was invited out to the house to be a part of the Wolfe family. Howarth was Santa and Betty was carefully making a list of every present as it was handed out.
So generous, so sad that she passed

Dear family of Betty and Howie Wolfe,
I am very sorry to know that Betty has passed on. She was a wonderful woman, always gracious, very funny!, and an inspiration to all who knew her. I knew her through our association on the Canadian College of Teachers for many years. I believe she was a Fellow of that College. She served in many capacities during her membership, including President. I remember very well the musical entertainment she and Howie provided for us, and for many groups in Alberta. I was very proud to call her a friend, although I hadn't seen her for several years. I expect that her qualities will be emulated by a great many people, not only her family, but all her acquaintances. She represents an ideal for me.
Sincerely,
Bill Taylor
