Obituary of Jacqueline Alice PARKS

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The Angels in Grade 4 are busy brushing up on the times tables today, because heaven just gained a wonderful and dedicated teacher; Jacqueline Alice Parks. Jacquie was such a teacher that other teachers tried to get their own kids in her class. Independence was very important to Jacquie, she made her own decisions and maintained her own house her entire life, with the help of a wonderful group of friends and neighbours. After retirement she continued her world travels in her signature fearless way. She was known to wander off from the tour group to see, “if people really did live in those Tajikistan yurts?” Retirement also gave her the opportunity to work on her passions like growing such a beautiful flower garden that people would drop by just to see. Her baking provided her fortunate family and friends a steady supply of her famous ginger snap cookies. Jacquie had a very loving heart, and her family loved her back, we were very proud of and treasured time with: Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Jacquie will be missed by her family and friends and will always be in our hearts and thoughts. Jacqueline is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Ralph and Jo-Anne, Blaine and Sandra, and Trent and Linda; grandchildren Dayna (Karl) Chu, Melissa (Scott) Forsyth, Jarrod Parks (Holly Williams), Brendan (Janey) Parks, Laura Parks (Chris Bemrose) and Derek Parks; great-grandchildren Joel, Alisha, Caleb, Aly, Sam, Toby, Ava and Tenley; sister Kathyrne (Ian) Borwick; brother Allen King; sister-in-law Shirley King and brother-in-law Ron Stanger. She was predeceased by Vera Slater, Jesse Stevenson, Marie Stanger, and Russell King. Memorial Services will be held at Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church, 4612 Varsity Drive N.W.
