Obituary of Nellie BOWERMAN

Nellie Bowerman passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 96 years. Nell’s passing marks a special milestone of her maiden family, Colvin, being the last of her generation to pass away. Nell was born in Carbon, AB on June 9, 1920, was raised in Drumheller, and moved to Calgary in 1956 where she spent the balance of her life. Nell made her life around her family, friends and home – being active within her community, making many good friends. She was a very independent woman, one whom we will love and miss dearly. Nell is survived by two daughters, Judy (Ron) Nairne of Vernon, BC and Pat (Rob) Biswanger of Calgary, AB; and two granddaughters, Candice (Monte) Schick of Langdon, AB and Kim (Earl) Fraser of Penhold, AB. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Finley Jean Fraser. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in January 2005. A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Nell will be reunited in Drumheller at the gravesite of her mother Helen Colvin and husband Jim.
