Obituary of KYLE David Cameron
Please share a memory of KYLE to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts we sadly announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father and grandfather on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
Dave was born in Pointe Claire Quebec but primarily grew up in Edmonton, moving to Calgary with Alberta Government Telephones in 1965. He worked there for thirty-six years until his retirement after which he sold real estate for another 20 years. Dave was an avid curler and golfer and was a long standing member of the Calgary Winter Club and the Elks Golf Club. He volunteered for every organization that his girls were involved in through the years and was thrilled to be able to continue golfing with his grandson, Kyle. Dave and Joyce enjoyed many holidays together both in Hawaii and on multiple cruises where they made even more lifelong friends. Dave was a people person and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like sharing a game of cards, a glass of wine or a just a conversation and a laugh. Their door was always open and friends dropped in regularly. He greatly enjoyed his daily walks with his many canine companions.
He will be mourned by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Joyce; his daughters Nancy (Gord) Lackie, and Maureen Kyle; as well as his grandchildren Kyle, Melissa and Dana.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas and his mother, Helen, as well as his brother Ken and sisters Nan and Jean.
Dave was blessed with numerous wonderful friends and extended family in Calgary, Edmonton, Spokane, Washington and Sarasota, Florida who will all miss him greatly.
Dave had requested that there be no service at this time. Please forward condolences through www.calgarycrematorium.com
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of their choice.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Serge Soolsma for his care throughout Dave’s last years and the loving staff at Bow Crest Care Centre in his final weeks.
