Obituary of Joseph Alfred John LEBLANC

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Fred LeBlanc, 76, who had been residing in Calgary, Alberta for the past 21 years, succumbed to his long standing battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis while being treated at the Rockyview General Hospital. Fred passed away while surrounded by his loving wife, Christine; his two daughters, Beverley and Carolyn; his granddaughter, Claire as well as his two sons-in-law, Daryn and Dan. Fred is survived by his sisters Arlene, Diane, Marie and Patsy. Fred is predeceased by his father and mother, Fred and Arloa, as well as his brother, Father Bob LeBlanc.

Fred was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 6, 1941. He attended Moncton High School and it was there that he met his wife to be, Christine. Fred also served with the Militia Reserves for four years. After high school, Fred pursued a lifelong career in sales and soon became the Regional Sales Manager for Harrisons & Crossfield -- serving the Atlantic provinces. Fred's work took him from Halifax to Montreal until he finally settled back in Moncton.

Family was an integral part of Fred's life. He married Christine at Saint Augustine's Church in 1965. Their wonderful daughters Beverley and Carolyn came along shortly thereafter. Fred loved nothing more than taking his family on vacations, spending time with the girls swimming, taking in the sights and building memories. Fred's sense of humour ingratiated him to all those in his presence. He loved parties, a few cocktails and many, many jokes. Fred, and all of the fun and laughter he shared, will be treasured forever.

A service for Fred will be held at Saint John's Anglican church in Bay du Vin, New Brunswick. His family and friends will be able to reminisce and honour Fred's life in early August. Fred was a tremendous person who, quite simply, will be missed -- but never forgotten. The French novelist, George Sand, said, "There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved." These words are the essence of Fred's life.
