Obituary of Alec Bruce NEILL

Alec Neill beloved husband of Guat Lee Neill of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the age of 75 years.

 

Alec received Honours throughout elementary and high school and skipped grade 3.  He was especially good in math and science.  He attended the University of Western Ontario and obtained a BA from Concordia University.

 

Alec worked in management and finance for different companies in Montreal, Edmonton, and Vancouver.  In the early 80’s Alec joined his twin brother David and spent the last 30 plus years working side by side in real estate development and investment in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary.

 

Alec was very active and loved sports and the outdoors.  He loved fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, swimming, scuba diving, tennis, paddle tennis, and golf. Alec and Lee were members of the Edgemont Tennis Club and made many friends there.  Alec and Lee enjoyed visiting Lee’s family in Malaysia every winter and travelling to other parts of Asia and Australia.  Alec and Lee were married for 40 years!  Alec enjoyed his wine (and whisky too) and made his own wine for many years.

Alec is survived by his wife Lee Neill (Calgary, AB); Brother Neill Neill (Parksville, BC) and his wife Eileen Neill,  his twin brother David Neill (Calgary, AB) and his wife Scarlett Neill; nephew Brian Neill (Calgary,AB) and his wife Richelle Neill; niece Sandra Neill (Calgary, AB).
 

 

He was predeceased by his brother Richard Neill; and his parents Addison Neill and Doreen Neill.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Sandra Neill on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
