Obituary of Gordon "Tom" MICHIEL
Tom beloved partner of Raymond Antonuk of Calgary, AB, passed away on January 22, 2018 at the age of 87 years.
Tom had a passion for the sport of Horse Jumping and was an accomplished horseman. He was able to turn his passion for the sport into a lifelong career. During his career he was a rider, a trainer, a teacher and an international FEI Judge. As a judge he earned the respect of the horse jumping community and was inducted into the Jump Canada Hall of Fame in November 2010. He continued to judge at Spruce Meadows a job he loved for more than 40 years.
Tom enjoyed travelling all over the world with his lifelong partner Ray, but Austria and California held a special place in his heart.
Tom is survived by his partner Ray Antonuk; sisters Anne and Ethel; sister-in-law Sandra Young; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Doug and Catherine Louie as well as many nephew, nieces and friends.
