Dorene Mellow posted a condolence
What does one say when our own little Scottish pioneer leaves us? I could go on forever...there has never been a more true saying than "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone"! My Auntie Dora was a determined woman, not much scared her. She was a woman's advocate in her time, moving from Scotland to forge out a new life, leaving all that was familiar to her behind. She had a successful career in the oil industry, and then moved forward as a successful entrepreneur - with help from her partner and best friend, Irene, of 60 plus years. I am thankful that she did the best she could for us kids... holidays, weekends at the ranch, clothes, dancing, singing and laughing! I'm glad that she looked out for my mom; doing what she could for her little sister. I will miss her "hi luv" greeting on the telephone, I will miss her quick wit and twinkling eyes. Probably didn't tell you enough, Auntie Dora, but Love You and will miss you, dearly.

We were sorry to hear of Dora's death, but glad she has found peace. We enjoyed many laughs together at chinchilla shows and will always remember her lively personality. Sincere condolences to Irene, and Dora's family. Allan and Sally Froehler

Auntie Dora, you were one awesome and original woman. No matter what, you stuck to your morals. What I took from you is to never stray from what you believe in and if you want something bad enough, fight for it. My memories of you and Auntie Irene will be passed on to my kids so they can also enjoy and smile when they here yet another amazing story, you will never be forgotten. I love you and now you are at peace.
