I just seen on the charitable foundation wall that George’s has passed. I met George in 2006 when I obtained my real estate license. Through out the years we crossed our paths in courses and business. He’s smiled was contagious and I’m sorry for your family’s lost. Creb won’t be the same without him.

I was saddened to hear of George's death. I met him while he was instructing realtor courses and I was becoming a realtor. Subsequently, I worked with RE/MAX House and he was my mentor for most of my real estate career.
George will be sorely missed. It was always a pleasure to see him since he greeted us all with a warm smile and could always tell a humorous story. When I called him for his real estate guidance, he always responded so quickly and so well. Doing a real estate transaction with him was such a positive experience. He was an unique person who made the world much better for his presence.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. May George rest in peace and may he be enjoying heaven.

I first met George at the CREB new realtor orientation, I had just transferred from BC. George knew I had to take the orientation course even though I was a seasoned realtor, so he took it easy on me and made it fun, even though I was stuck there for 3 days! 5 years later he was the new broker/owner of Remax Complete where I was working out of and a year later I had an office right beside his... during this time I got to know him a lot better and always loved hearing his good mornings, teasing, jokes and his expertise and experience when I needed something real estate related. He will be deeply missed and my condolences go out to his family at this time.

My sincere condolences to the Mathews family. I have fond memories of George when I was a Realtor with RE/Max House. He taught all of us very well, in fact I believe he might have been one of my original teachers when I got my license in 2005. I remember him having a smile on his face and always taking the time to say "Hi how are you?"

Your father taught me an industry that I love today. He was always kind to me, always recognize me, and always would stop to chat. He is truly a loss for industry but more so a loss to the world. He gave an excellent example of what it is to be a follower of Jesus. Sending you love and prayers to the family.

Most sincere condolences to the Mathews family.. George will always remain in the memories of nearly anybody who was ever a licensed real estate agent in Calgary. He was a great teacher, a marvellous communicator and a consummate supporter of us all. We will miss him dearly but never forget the example he set. His humour, kindness and generosity with his time for everyone set the standard. A wonderful gentleman who's influence will live on. Thank you George.

Dear Lisa & family. My deepest condolences on the passing of George. I've known George for over 30 years, and as a past colleague/instructor at CREB, AREA, and RECA, we shared a common passion of teaching and helping new members of the real estate industry be successful. I always enjoyed George's charisma and sense of humour! In recent years, he would invite me as a "Subject Matter Expert" to speak to his SRES classes about Reverse Mortgages. We all had a giggle when he introduced me as his "brother from another mother"! George was always a sharp dresser ... a class act no matter what the occasion! He'll be sadly missed, but fondly remembered. Best personal regards, Bob Dubask (Ret'd)

To Lisa and the entire family;
There are no words that can express how sorry we are to hear about the death of your dear George. We are very stunned to hear the news and extend our prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.
For me personally, George was a fabulous man and a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. He was someone who showed me a lot of respect. Always came into the office and greeted me with a smile, a joke and took the time to talk to me as a colleague. Lisa you know we all became very close when you both helped Jaclyn search and buy her first condo. His knowledge, honesty, and patience was a gift to us and we appreciated it. You and George always treated her like your own child. Jarold and I also appreciated our friendship with both of you. George was an excellent teacher and realtor and the realtor family will also suffer a great loss.
Wishing you peace and strength during this time of sorrow. I pray and hope you get all the support from your family and friends. Please remember that I am also here to help however I can.
George will always be remembered and in our hearts forever.
Love Sari & Jarold

Dear Lisa
As a volunteer on Unit 58, I just want to send my condolences to you and all of your Family Members. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for all of you.
Both you and George had the unique quality of making a point of getting to know both the Staff and the Residents on Unit 58 but most especially his table mates. He got to know them and was always good about taking interest in how they were doing with their health concerns. He cared and he was a “Gentleman and someone we are lucky to have walked in his midst.
Lisa sending you a special hug and hoping all your memories will help you with this difficult time.
Love

My heart sank when I heard the news of George's passing. He was a kind soul who was always willing to drop whatever he was doing to help, advise or mentor people in our business (myself included on many occasions). I will miss your smile and happiness George, I will cherish the memories I have of us on the golf course, having lunch together and our many many chats we had over the 20 years I knew you! My thoughts and prayers to all of the Mathews family. You were blessed with an amazing man in your life and I know we all have a little piece of our hearts that we will fill with his memory!

So deeply saddened hearing of George's passing. I will always think of George having time for everyone, always being upbeat, and making you feel like a million bucks whenever he saw you. He cared about you and your family, and wished for everyone's success, helping wherever he could. I enjoyed taking a few of the many courses taught by George, and especially working at the same brokerage, where he helped me during some tough personal times. He has certainly left his mark on Calgary Real Estate with hundred's of members of the Calgary Real Estate Board. All the best to Lisa and the family during this very tough time. Thanks for everything George! May you rest in peace.
