Obituary of Yumiko WATANABE

Yumiko Watanabe passed away on December 8, 2018. She was born in Yamanashi, Japan on May 1, 1949.

Yumiko came to Canada in 1973 and was joined by her mother Yukie in 1982, living a happy life together the past 36 years. She was baptised as a Christian in 1981. Yumiko worked at the Consulate-General of Japan in Edmonton and Calgary for thirty years, where her hard work, dedication and compassion helping the Japanese community in the Prairies earned the respect of many. She will also be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, positive attitude and her many talents. Yumiko will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 1 Thessalonians 5:16- Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus Concerning You.

 

Yumiko is survived by her mother, Yukie.

She was predeceased by her father, Shoichi and her brother, Akichika.

 

A Celebration of Yumiko’s life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
