July 19, 2014 This is far too late and for that we apologize. Hugh Jones and the family of the late Margie Jones (Fawcett) extend our sympathy in the passing of Aunt Margaret - a great lady, a grand lady. Many of us had the good fortune of living with Uncle Irving and Aunt Margaret while attending the U of A. The house was always full of love, laughter and music. Aunt Margaret was amazing - a woman ahead of her time on issues of gender equality, gender identity and supports for the most vulnerable in our society. She will be missed and remembered fondly by us all. Margie got hooked on "The Lady Detective Series" because of Aunt Margaret - "read something less political Margie as it will make you feel better" - feel better it did. Margie attended a book signing by Allister McColl Smith the year before she herself passed away - all because Aunt Margaret got her hooked on his books. Thank you Aunt Margaret. To the family of Margaret Hanley Gould We were greatly saddened when we heard the news that your Mom/Grandmother, Margaret, had passed away. Even though we had not seen each other since the Gould Drug days we kept in contact each year at Christmastime. She was a wonderful lady who will be sorely missed. May we express our sincere sympathy on the passing of your mother and grandmother. I had known Marg for several years as a fellow social worker, member of the Calgary Women's Literary Club and as two of a small group of friends who met to sing together, converse, and enjoy a pot luck dinner at each other's homes. Marg was a wonderful friend; a person of grace, intelligence, compassion and caring. We feel privileged to have known her.
