Dear Leonila, Maya and Anna,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your most wonderful and caring mother. I have so many great memories of her when she lived next door to us on Benjamin Blvd. Always smiling, interesting and interested in our young world. She always amazed me with her fearless spirit in moving forward through life. I enjoyed my first Turkish coffee, watched with wonder at her make Croatian desserts, always in a dress or skirt (I swear, I never recall her wearing slacks EVER!) and no matter what, grace under pressure. Such a great lady! RIP and god bless

Dear Maya, Leonila, the rest of the family and friends,
Durdica was a very special and dear person to me and to many others. I can hear her voice and recall her fun-loving and kind spirit clearly as I write this and look at her picture.
Durdica showed much love and deep kindness and devotion to her family and friends, those she was close to and she similarly showed much compassion to everyone else. I regret not having been in touch with her or her family over the last years despite the distance, poor health, drifting apart and my busy-ness. I knew Durdica and her family in my early childhood and young adulthood and she was like an aunt to me and my family. She has left me with many deep and positive impressions that have helped me be a better and stronger person, more fun- loving, kind and compassionate. When I think of her now, it is clear to me that these impressions are a part of me, affect me every day and ripple out to those I touch and am close to and I am sure further still. I have a plant that sits on my desk here where I write that she gave me as she was leaving Toronto which reminds me of her and how she was in the world and of her family who have all similarly touched me.
Thank you teta Durdica, I miss you, love you and am grateful to you and your family for these and many more things.

No words can truly say how very sorry I feel and how deeply I share your loss.
I am thankful to have known Durdica, and I will always remember her kindness, her warm smile and the generous giving of herself to family and friends.

Durdica was my very good friend. I have not talked to her for a long time. It was very difficult to get in touch with her because of her sickness. However, I prayed for her every evening. I will miss her. She will be missed by our children and our mutual friends; Grbin Vinko and Ksenia, Mihalicek Bozena and family for instance.
