Obituary of Victor LESHIK

Please share a memory of Victor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With immeasurable sorrow, heavy hearts and profound sadness, the loving family of Victor Leshik announces his passing as he was surrounded by his family. Vic worked for the City of Calgary for 35 years, most recently in Water Services where he was valued for his fairness and integrity. Nothing says it better than what one colleague wrote, “We’d take a bullet for you Vic.” Vic was a fan of people, a fan of life and the ultimate Stampeder fan since 1960. He and his dad had season’s tickets and after his father passed, Vic continued to enjoy his season’s tickets with his sons, friends and Darlene. Vic was a dedicated friend and in his memory, do something nice for someone, that’s what he did for us - a selfless, considerate, giving man whose heart was always in the right place. Vic leaves to mourn his loving sons Reece and Kurt; the love of his life for twenty years and eleven months, Darlene Hunt; daughters Denise (Api) Nadredre and sweet granddaughter Misha Buza of Vancouver, BC, Shelli (Kim) Sannes of San Diego, CA; Tamara (Ian) McDougall of Santa Clara, CA; mother Jean Leshik and sister Rita (Jim) Peever; and nephew Zachary Peever. Vic was predeceased by his father Alex Leshik. Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com. Vic’s family extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. S Lupichuk and her nurse Ray, Palliative Home Care, Dr. P. Quail, the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Special Services for helping in his valiant effort to beat his illness.
