Obituary of Chris Martin

Please share a memory of Chris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Martin, on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the age of 40 years.

Christopher spent his childhood in Thompson, Manitoba, before moving to Yellowknife in 1987. Christopher loved to play any kind of sports including bowling, curling, slow pitch, hockey, volleyball, downhill skiing, snowboarding to name a few. His love and passion for working out at the gym was enormous and began at the age of 15. Christopher’s career was that of a millwright.  His extensive career, working at the diamond mines in the Northwest Territories, also gave him the opportunity to be on the mine rescue team. He excelled in many areas of his work and loved this challenging career.

Christopher spent a great part of the last year working hard on addiction recovery. He fostered many relationships at the Fresh Start Recovery Center and gained many brothers as a result. He was proud, yet humbled, to have become alumni there.

Beloved son of Lea and Trevor (Lyn) and an awesome brother to Gabrielle (William); his niece Chyler, who was the light of his life!

Christopher is also survived by his grandpa Couturier, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and girlfriend Kaity.

He was predeceased by his grandma Couturier, grandma and grandpa Martin; uncle Don.

He will be sorely missed by all. Rejoice in God’s arms Christopher!
