To all of you in the Griffth family; Lynn and I share your loss. We got to know your mom...and dad during the furlough in 1961 and we all ended up in cold...chill blained Dublin. Slieve Bloom...the house they rented on The Hill of Howth soon became the meeting ground and for us 3 bachelors,,,,Mike.. Fred... and me,it also became our salvation with Joyce's fantastic meals. I then had the privilege to baby sit Kim and Tannis...in exchange for your folks hospitality. Joyce was the solid rock who kept a somewhat volatile hubby out of trouble....most of the time....but they, sadly, moved back to Canada after a year with Aer Lingus.They were missed..
We renewed our friendship in the 80's and 90's and once again , Joyce was front and foremost in running her B&B and being a great Mother Hen to her brood. Sadly, we only had sparse contact with Joyce in these last few years.....If Only comes to mind.
We hope your memories of this feisty lady will be a salve to the hurt you are feeling.
