Obituary of Phyllis Joyce Griffith

Phyllis “Joyce”  Griffith (nee Clark) passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

 

Joyce led a life full of creativity. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter and all purpose crafter. She was also a talented miniaturist, who specialized in knitting, sewing and stitching miniature pieces which were exhibited and sold at national and international shows.

 

A few of the memorable milestones in Joyce’s life included participating in the building of the family cottage at Sandy Lake, Ontario,providing years of enjoyment for family and friends ; owning and operating Orchard’s Edge Bed and Breakfast in Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON,  and travelling the world with her late husband , Jim Griffith, usually with at least one child and/or grandchildren  in tow.

 

No matter where she was or what she was doing, the main focus of Joyce’s life was always her family, which she valued above all else. Her dedication enriched the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Joyce is survived by children, Kim (Brad) Walker of Cochrane, AB, Tannis (Tim) Brown of Calgary, AB, Clark (Michele) Griffith of Ingersoll, ON, and Jennifer(Gary) Haines of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Andrew (Grace) Embury of Hong Kong, Alison Embury (Dale Warkentin) of Bond Head, ON, Cristin Embury (Colin Dyck) of Calgary, AB, Sean Brown (Lauren Clear) of Winnipeg, MB, Daren Brown(Haily Dang) of Calgary, AB, Gillian Griffith (Amy Porter) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, and Heather (Mitch) McNaughton of Ingersoll, ON ; great grandchildren, Iris West, Elliott Embury ,Charlotte Embury, Harper McNaughton and Ella Clear,as well as her sister Karen Bean(Brian).
