Obituary of Lois Fay Cappis

Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Cappis (nee Williams) announces her passing on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the age of 75 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lois was born to parents Harry and Olive Williams, on July 15, 1945, in Calgary, Alberta. She grew up in the Tuxedo Park community, attending Balmoral Junior High School and graduating from Crescent Heights High School.

Lois and Eric met in high school, fell in love and married on March 25, 1964. While raising a large and busy family, Lois embarked on a 34 year career with the Calgary Board of Education where she was respected by the faculty and students alike, building many lifelong friendships.

For those that knew Lois, it was clear that family was her first priority. Whether it was through the sharing of her signature Christmas candy, whipping up homemade carmellos for the family, or crafting beautiful quilts for her grandchildren, Lois found great satisfaction in providing Joy to others.  Quilting was one of her many passions and when she wasn’t diligently working at her sewing machine, she could be found tending to her beautiful flower garden or cheering on the Calgary Flames and Toronto Blue Jays.

Lois will be sadly missed by her children, Kevin (Alyssa), Trevor, Brenda (Kelly), Tanya (Greg) and Tara. She was a loving grandmother to Kyle, Stephanie, Kirby, Maddy, Taylor, Mike (Genn), Cory, Jeanette, Sarah, and great-grandchild, Frank. She was also survived by her sister Joyce (Mert), brothers Keith (Carol) and Tig (Carol) and many nieces and nephews. She was also loved by the grand-dogs Oscar, Bentley, Cooper, Mini-cooper, Latte, Roger, great-grand-dog Tito and the family cat, Ashes.

Lois was predeceased by her husband, Eric, her parents, Harry and Olive Williams, her brother Don (Avis) and sister Sharon (Mike).

Lois had a way of making everyone feel special, she will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a time when gatherings are permitted.
