Obituary of Laura Emma Campbell
Laura Campbell, beloved wife of the Late Robert Campbell of Calgary, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Laura was born in Calgary, AB on December 16, 1932.
Laura married Robert Campbell in September 1950.
Laura enjoyed working at Alberta Distiller's for 30 plus years and after retirement looked forward to their Stampede Breakfasts where she was joined by some of her kid, grandkids, then great-grandkids.
This time of year would find Laura baking 100's of dozens of Christmas cookies and everyone got tins of her famous delicacies. Nobody can bake them like her! She loved family reunions, playing bocce ball, cards, dice and dancing. She loved getting together with her sisters singing and laughing until they cried. She loved going for drives and truly loved her hometown, Calgary. She shared stories of it's history and kept scrap books of events.
Laura’s favourite quote was “So what’s happening?”
Laura is survived by her sons, Douglas (Sharon) Campbell of Calgary and Rodney Campbell of Puerto Vallarta; grandchildren, Scot (Luba) Campbell of Calgary, Dawn (Jason) Marschlik of Calgary, Chris Campbell of Calgary and Sean (Everly) Campbell of Batangas City; great-grandchildren, (Dawn’s) Clarissa, Brandon and Jordan Smedley, (Sean’s) Laurean and Christopher Campbell, and (Scot’s) Samuel Campbell; sisters, Bertha (Rolland) Boucher of Agassiz, BC and Christina of Lethbridge, AB; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Laura was predeceased by her husband, Robert Clifford Campbell and her parents Louise and William Borth, brothers Walter, Daniel, Laurence and sister Royce Jensen,
The last few years Laura resided at Bethany Long Term Facility where she was well taken care of by staff (big thank you) and always remarked she was never lonely because she had people around and activities and entertainment. She loved the atrium and was always amazed at all the beautiful plants and flowers!
A Private Service will be planned by the family at a later date.
