Obituary of Aloise FIEGER

Please share a memory of Aloise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Al Fieger beloved husband of Audrey of Calgary, passed away on March 31, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Al’s golden rule was “work hard and play harder”. He loved life. He was a true entrepreneur experiencing great success in the sign manufacturing and oilfield supply business. Al was delighted to retire at 55, exchanging his workaholism for a similar dedication to golf. That period encompassed a decade of snow-birding, thousands of ‘rounds’ and 4 holes in one. He was most proud of the hole in one covered in the Fernie newspaper and the article that described both his and Audrey’s hole in one accomplished in the same week , on the same hole. An avid historian and train buff, Al had many friends and enjoyed a good game of bridge and horseshoes. He was a self-taught techy spending many happy hours on his computer learning the latest advancements. Al is lovingly remembered by the “prettiest girl he ever saw” - his fun-loving wife of 65 years, Audrey (nee Swain), and his nine children; Leslie, Anne (Steve), Fritz, Wink (Bob), Alanna (Ray), Patti (Bruce), Jay (Shelley), Stevie (Bill), Paul (Ev); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; surviving siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Al was predeceased by his parents and three of his siblings. A Memorial Service will be held in Calgary at a later date. If friends so desire Memorial Tributes may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice, 1245 – 70 Avenue S.E. Calgary, AB T2H 2X8. Al and his family are grateful for the kindness shown him by the staff at Rosedale Hospice and for the compassionate care he received.
