Obituary of Matthew Glen Newman

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our son Matthew Newman. He passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 37.

 

Matt was raised in Calgary, he became a journeyman electrician, and he acquired comprehensive knowledge in residential and commercial construction throughout his life. Prior to choosing his vocation he owned and operated multiple companies. He branded the company he was most proud of as Cornerstone placing. Matt was incredibly capable, his quality of work was unmatched, and he had unlimited potential.

 

He found joy in helping others, creating and fixing things, extreme sports and acquiring the toys that go with them. He had a kind and compassionate nature and he was a loyal and protective friend. He loved to party and make people laugh. He was hilarious and compelling. He loved animals. He loved his Grandma. He loved all Grandmothers. Nothing made him happier then helping a venerable person. He touched many people, he achieved more as a young man than most people will achieve in a lifetime, and he never had a dull moment. During his short time with us he lived a full life.

 

Matt is survived by his parents, Brian and Terry; two sisters, Sara and Chelsea; as well as multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by all his grandparents.
