Wow. This is hitting me pretty hard now. I had heard the rumour that "The Doctor" was in bad shape and no one was able to give me any more information. I've been so incredibly blessed to be a part of Devans amazing journey here on this planet. He was a man of great knowledge and experience who shared tidbits and nuggets (literally) of his wealth with me.
Hours of the day sitting in the sun or shade of a patio on Electric Avenue or The Red Mile in Calgary sharing stories of growing up as a Tamil tiger and his time in Singapore. He's actually the person who taught me that the pain in my foot was gout and how he combated it. He's the one who was clear about the damage of sugar and yeast /hops - uric acid etc. It's so terribly sad that he would have succumb to the ravages of these diseases.
Devan and I were two very tall men who clearly stood (literally) head and shoulders above the crowds and he would gently remind me that it's ok to have fun while being observant and aware of the surroundings.
He taught me a lot about the "hunt", the mature way of addressing the softer - gentler sex and the proper way to make sure they are loved and cared for.
So many lessons, meals, drinks, laughs, clubs, dances, meetings, drives, flights, and other activities that have solidified his memory for me, and why as I type and recall the tears are rolling down my cheek.
Great man. Great friend. Great associate, truly will be missed and forever loved.
Rest In Power!
Till we meet again Doctor!

Condolences to Devan's family, girlfriend, and friends, on his passing. He will be missed by many people. We would have all hoped to have him around for many more years, but unfortunately it just wasn't to be.
I first Devan in 2009, through mutual associates. His outgoing personality, quickly caused us to exchange phone numbers. While we hadn't known of each other before that time, we had moved in similar social circles, and thus had a few common friends. The number of common friends, continued to grow over the years, as he introduced me to more interesting people.
A call from Devan at work, was always a nice break from the monotony of toiling away in a cubicle. I would first have to turn down the volume on the phone, as I held it close to my ear, so people walking by couldn't hear some funny joke being told, in a loud voice.
He would always be somewhere around town, and magically appear at a function or at a bar, wearing his dark suit, and then get in. He would stand tall and important looking, at an entrance, until someone who knew him, would wave him in. He was like the man who knew everybody.
Devan got me to visit some countries that I might have not otherwise have visited, as travel is always more fun if you have a friend to be a "base", in an unknown destination. That's when I discovered that he didn't always wear a suit, but did dress more casually in a T-shirt and shorts, when not going out around town, in Calgary.
He is gone too soon, and will be missed. His legacy will be the many friends, that became friends through knowing him. He often joked that I should pay a "finders fee" for being introduced to certain friends of his, so I said I would just buy him a Stella Artois. Clearly I had the cheaper end of the deal, after meeting the many fine people that he knew, traveling to different countries that I might not otherwise have traveled to, and having his friendship for the last decade.

Dear bro Saha, i always wondered where you were and how you were doing. Im truly sad to hear that you passed on and the world is a sadder place because of that. I will always cherish the hockey moments we had at my home and in the field at CSC and IA and Farrer Park. You were such a huge figure on the pitch and i hated your tacking skills because your arms were long and your size was intimidating.. Hahaha. It was a pleasure to have known you then and for now it is just a goodbye. For we will meet again in God's holy place. I rejoice just knowing that!
