Obituary of Harold Charles Parr

Harold Parr of Calgary passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the age of 89 years.

 

Our father was a talented artist, athlete and highly respected educator. However, his personal and professional accomplishments are overshadowed by his love for our family and his view that our happiness and success were the most important things to him. His outlook on life was reaffirmed for us over the past few months when he was at his most vulnerable but still cared deeply about our well-being and of course, that of his brother John (Katherine), also of Calgary.

 

Harold’s wife of sixty-six years, Olwyn, as well as his daughter Jane Burke (Ron), son Stephen (Diane) and favourite grandson Ethan Burke have been touched by the many kind words we have received from our extended family and Dad’s many friends and former colleagues. Although this is a difficult time for us, it is also a time to feel proud of our dad, who is respected by so many.

 

We will miss his presence at our family gatherings along with the guidance he provided, the regular critique of Liverpool Football Club and England Rugby performances and his love/hate relationship with the game of golf.
