Although much of my relationship with Irene came secondhand through her daughter, Bev, I feel as though I have known Irene and loved her most of my adult life.
During our early 20’s, when Bev and I were roommates, Irene would often pop by to visit. And the first thing she would do is dive into our ill-stocked fridge and whip up the most amazing soups from whatever she found there. A chef extraordinaire!
And then there was her trip to Europe with her daughters. Always a fashion diva, Irene had packed shoes for each and every outfit. Her daughters had to stop at the airport and repack her bag, ditching a store’s worth of “necessities”!!!
But, the thing I remember most about Irene is her compassion, humor, and love for her family and for Life itself. And all the angels now say, “watch out God - here comes Irene”. What a blessing she has been.
