I was delighted to meet Cherry via Zoom through an online class with Suzanne Giesemann in February 2021, In the breakout session where we took turns tuning in for each other, I heard the words, "Lifeline"- she then asked me whether she was a lifeline, or whether I was lifeline for her. I felt it was the former. When I then shared my recovery from stage 4 cancer story and resulting website with the group, she contacted me and out of that, a marvelous friendship was born. Sharing resources, insights, photos of beautiful flowers from our respective gardens, we stayed in frequent touch. We shared books and insights, stories, personal triumphs, the good and not so good news.
I relished our conversations, with her thoughtful comments about different spiritual teachers and healers and the people she met, her delight in beauty, books she enjoyed. Recently, we spoke about her favorite colors, her beautiful new carpet, her desire to go to Hawaii. I will miss her presence in my life, and our sharing very much. What a talented, beautiful human being! I am so deeply grateful to have been gifted her friendship. My profound condolences to Gil and her family and friends.

After high school Cherry and I only met sporadically and in these last year we lost touch. Until 2019 when we discovered we were both in Calgary. We shared our personal reading lists in our last lunch and I could see that she continued her search for a better world and how to live well in the world we had been given. She was not searching selfishly but with a willingness to participate - to extend herself. She had a great and quick wit when she mocked the things she thought would best be left out of the better world but was always open to good and intense conversation. Thank you for throwing buns at a dinner party. It was a better dinner afterward - a better lighter world.

I am very sad to hear that Cherry is no longer with us. She was very kind and caring and very giving with her time to anyone who needed support or someone to lean on. I worked with Cherry for over 12 years at Husky. I will miss her a lot.
