Born and raised in Calgary, AB, Don is lovingly survived and dearly missed by Pat (nee McCormack), his wife of 51 years; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Holly; son Mike, three grandchildren, Reece, Simon, and Miles; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Rick Boss; as well as numerous other extended family members and too many friends to count.
After a long career at TransAlta Utilities, Don retired and found his home away from home in Mesa, AZ. Warm temperatures agreed with him, and time spent with family and friends down south was always time well spent. Don was a leader in life and leaves an immeasurable legacy not only with family and friends but with an extended football family that includes the Cowboys and the Calgary Minor Football Community that are both greater for having had the benefit of his selfless commitment for the past thirty-five years.
Don loved his family and friends first and foremost and was always eager and willing to put others ahead of himself at any opportunity. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him is a better person because of his friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Calgary Italian Cultural Club (416, 1st Ave NE, Calgary, AB).
