A few memories of Uncle Dave. I remember meeting up with Dave and Nicky in Shanghai and thinking how nice it was to have family come to China. You get used to be isolated and away for months at a time and the enthusiasm and joy Uncle Dave had for being there on that trip was infectious. He was truly loving every minute of that trip. I remember the shared love of books and reading we had and that he always had several recommendations that I followed up with. Probably the most important memory I have of him, was a phone conversation we had a number of months after my dad and I had, had a major falling out. He was aware of it and told me I should call my dad, “Den, life’s too short. You should give him a call and smooth things out.” It was excellent advice that I took and very glad I did. I am very grateful to Dave for that. He will be greatly missed. Den Kraft

To Rita, Andrea, Nicole and family. We were so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a great cousin of Lloyd’s and best man at our wedding. In fact, that’s where we first met you, Rita, was at our wedding. We are sorry we have to miss his funeral, but Lloyd doesn’t like to drive on the city anymore and we are at the lake. So glad we got to come to your 25 Anniversary and that you got to come to our 50. We always enjoyed a visit when you came to Unity. So glad we can keep in touch with your family on FB and get to see your grandchildren. Glad you have your girls close by, Rita. Take care and God Bless . Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will miss discussing the preparation of food with Dave. He loved his garden and produced such tasty items. I was always glad to receive the result of his hard work. He was never shy advising how things should be prepared. I sang at his and Rita's wedding and was honored to do so. His kindness to me was so appreciated and he will be missed. Marilyn Carter
