Dear Grandma Mary, just a quick note to let you and your loving family know that the residents and staff here at George Boyack requested to call all baking programs "Mary's Baking" for the rest of this year in her honour! Hopefully this brings you all pleasant thoughts for your day!

Dear Mary's family, Mary and Doug were our neighbours in Crescent Heights for seven years. We gardened together in the little plot in my back yard--most productive plot on the block! That was Mary's hand. When we moved to Kelowna, Mary and Doug would visit and take back loads of apples from our little orchard yard. That same summer Mary helped me put up close to 20 apple or peach pies from the trees in our yard. In fact, i was the helper, and Mary the force to be reckoned with in my kitchen. I'll never forget that visit or the many congenial times we spent planting, weeding and harvesting. We felt ourselves lucky to be their neighbours. We send our condolences to your family. So many memories to cherish. In sympathy, Patricia Bacon and Richard Smith Calgary

Mary was a key part of our singalong group at the Boyack for many years. We have missed her sparkling personality and enthusiastic participation as she has so graciously dealt with her illness. Our hearts are with you as you mourn her loss. But we hope you will be able to dwell as well in all of that sparkle which she shared with us all. Jim Wilson

My day instantly brightened when I smelt Mary's cookies in the oven at Boyack, not only because I knew I would be the taste tester for her cookies, but I knew she would give me a huge hug that ment more than she knew. My condolences go out to her loved ones. She will be remembered and missed every day .

Dear Grandma Mary and family, I met this wonderful lady and her husband "Doug-ee" at Cross Bow Care Center in 2000-20001. I always admired her for taking Doug outside for a walk in his chair rain or shine everyday! I felt the same admiration when she felt sorry for me and pushed me out of the way to help me with a baking program I was failing at! That was day one of 13 continueous years of me being her volunteer every Tuesday morning. We must have made a thousand cookies with only a couple close calls with the fire alarms. Mary the "Cookie Lady" brought delightful smells and cheefful music to the halls of George Boyack Care Center as one of our most dedicated volunteers. Mary was one of my best friends and supporters in my life. She took me in as and Adopted Grandson because she always seemed to have an extra pair of socks at Christmas Time. I will miss all of your homemade treats, always upbeat spirit but most of all the Grandma Mary hugs that made everything seem ok. On behalf of my family, staff, residents, and her fellow volunteers I would like to wish all of her friends and family with all the blessings she has asked for us to be given. Thank you Mary for being such a special soul in our lives! Love always
