Obituary of Olga Justina Wohlgemuth

 

March 14, 1928 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan

March 29, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

 

 

Olga Wohlgemuth of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the age of 95 years.

 

Olga was born in Swift Current and was raised on her grandparents farm near Pennant, Saskatchewan.

 

She began her teaching career in January 1947, in rural Saskatchewan, after graduating from Teacher College. Olga obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree in Calgary while she was employed by the Calgary Board of Education. She retired from the board in June 1983.

 

After retirement she travelled to many countries, and was an active volunteer for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. She also enjoyed sewing with her friends and gifting her many projects to family and friends. A great sports fan, always rooting for the home teams.

 

Olga was predeceased by her parents, John and Klara and her brother, Walter.

 

Auntie is survived by Debra Gregory (Cyril) and Nancy Epp (Andre). She was Great-Auntie to Michael Gregory (Kelly) and daughter Piper; Jason Epp (Cory) and children Justin, Kaleb, and Parker; Heather King and two sons Ryan (Caly) and their daughter Everleigh, and Brayden.
