Obituary of Dana Lynn Dyler

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dana Lynn Dyler. Mother, grandmother, loving partner, sister and friend. Dana passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 29, 2023 in Calgary, AB at the age of 66 years.
Dana was born in Calgary, AB, on March 29, 1957, the first-born daughter to Willis and Benita Magee. She met our dad, Dave Dyler, in elementary school, but they didn’t start dating until grade ten. They were married in 1976 and drove off to start their future together, the next day. They built their first home in Falcon Ridge and raised their two sons, Glenn and Blake.
Dana enjoyed life, family and friends. Never one to complain, she approached every challenge in life with courage, perseverance, grace and an endless supply of positive energy. Those traits would be tested to the fullest in 2008, when her husband, Dave, was diagnosed with cancer. She cared for him until his battle ended.
Dana met her new partner, Ron, a few years later. Together, they started a new chapter in their lives, filled with many memories.
Dana will be lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Kathryn, Blake and Joanne; her partner, Ron Montgomery; and by her three grandchildren, Sati, Rafael and Faith. She will be missed by her sister Erin; her brothers, Michael (Christine), Thomas (Colleen) and Russell (Larissa); her cousins, Bruce Loeppky, Tracy Harris; nieces and nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her husband, Dave Dyler (2009); and her parents, Willis and Benita Magee (2011).
A celebration of Dana’s life, for family and friends, will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared at www.calgarycrematorium.com.
