Donna Dauber posted a condolence

I worked with Nancy years ago at Petrosar in Corunna and we spent a lot of time together both at work and socially. She was always so soft spoken, never seemed to get upset about anything, always looking at the positive side of things and I wasn't surprised to read that she persevered with her illness and inspired others, that was exactly how I remember her. Although we lost touch after I moved to London, I still remember these fun times spent together. My deepest condolences to her family. Hopefully remembering all your happy memories will help you all through the days ahead.
Sincerely, Donna (Barclay) Dauber

I received word the other day that Nancy had passed after a two year battle with cancer.
I had met her only briefly, once, in Calgary, at the care hospital where she was living at the time. It was during the COVID era. We could only meet masked, at a distance, outside.
Nancy had sisters, two of whom are friends of mine. They were all born within years of each other and remained close throughout their lives. She was a happy soul, calm and quiet, warm and loving, thoughtful, caring and giving. I sensed all of that during one short visit.
The past few years had been particularly hard on her but she persevered, and continued to inspire and impress everyone she met. She is now resting in peace knowing that the people she leaves behind feel blessed to have had her in their lives, long term or briefly, because she truly was, and remains, one amazing angel!
RIP Nancy. I am grateful for the few moments we had.
