We simply cannot imagine a world without our Didiatya.
She literally lived across the Seven Seas. Yet we felt her presence around us at all times.
What she did not do for all of us, old and young?
We will always remember the golden days Didiatya spent with us at Kakoda.
Didiatya was not only their sister but also a parent to my parents.
We all miss her very very much.

Even though I only had the pleasure of meeting Sushma recently, her personality brightened up the room on each of our meetings. From our brief conversations it was very noticeable how much she appreciated life and the love she had for her family. My condolences to the family and may she rest in peace.

I am still processing the loss. It has happened so quickly that it is difficult to come to terms with the reality. I miss our outings and cherish the wonderful memories we have shared for a long time.
Rest in peace, my friend. Sushma will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to your family during this incredibly challenging time. Please accept my deepest condolences, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May time heal your wounds and ease the pain of your loss as you navigate through these difficult times.

Dear Sanjiv and family , my deepest condolences. Didiatya was a great source of inspiration for all of us here in Kakoda. She lived her life to the fullest. I remember me being ecstatic when my grandmother would tell me she is visiting India. She would bring me the best of chocolates and toys. I still have some of those toys with me. They are all part of my happiest memories from childhood. It was akin to stepping on the moon moment for me when I visited her last year right around this time, albeit briefly but i remember all of it like it was yesterday. The way she giggled on my comments , the time we spent visiting her favorite mall and she relishing her favorite cheese pasta from Chachis. We even went to Joey Crowfoot where she told me so many stories of you , Patricia, Renee and Jeremy and how it was your go to spot for dinner. I cherish all of the moments I could spend with her. I will always remember her in my heart. May her soul rest in peace.Lots of love.
Jignesh

“Didiatya (Taidu in mummys words) is coming to India “… I still remember the expressions and the joy on mummy’s face when she would say these words. The entire kakoda house would start shining and all preparations would begin. Daddy and mamma would start planning where to go roaming with didiatya this time , mummy would start booking maids for cleaning the house, making masalas, pickles, sweets, snacks and the list would go on….
Me and Jignesh were probably very immature to understand the emotions; but we would be happy because we would get a break from routine school without declared holidays and would go on picnics with didiatya enjoy all food delicacies…the cheer was as though it was some festival in kakoda house…
Didiatya; once she would arrive she would make it a point to get gifts for all …now I realize how heavy it must have been on her pocket but still she never would turn down anyone’s hopes in best way she could!! As kids, we really would enjoy that too…
After some years, her visits weren’t that frequent but still the happiness persisted!! I remember speaking on phone regularly for long hours discussing recipes especially of the some banana cake that came as a parcel to her I guess!! Didiatya would be ready to talk on anything under the sky; I never felt short of topics when I would talk to her !!!
I am glad she met Kashvi (Kuhu) my daughter during her last visit to Goa, now I realize how worth that trip from Jaipur to Goa was!! Didiatya would also make it point to send photograps and also ask for them regularly …these are all memories now…
With a very heavy heart I would like to send my sincere condolences to all ..May her soul rest in peace…. Whereever she is I am sure her blessings will always be with us!!
You can close your eyes to reality but not to memories …,
U

It has been a painful thought that didi is not with us anymore. She had been the only sister of four brothers.Being the eldest, she always was protective towards her brothers. Stood by their side and supported them all through and come what may, mummy papa also used to take her opinion before giving consent. As a sister in law ,I would want to plan her holiday in India to my level best. She too would appreciate and acknowledge my smallest gesture. Her smile and humble eyes in acknowledgement would fill my heart with joy. When she would be away she made it a point to call and be in touch. We could chat for long. She would give hearty laugh at my jokes..going to miss it all.It is said people who leave us are always in our heart ..so she will be. Love you Didi.

My brothers and I have had the opportunity to assist Sushma with her lawn care and snow removal for the past 7+ years. Sushma was not just a valued client, but also became a dear friend and like a grandma to all of us at Legendary Lawns. She was a sweet, charming, and endearing presence on our route and in our lives.
I always got a smile when I saw her name pop up on my phone, where she would kindly inquire about the timing of our visits to help at her property. She didn't want to miss us, you see, but she was always busy, going for her walks, staying active, running errands, and enjoying life to the fullest. What truly set Sushma apart was her unfailing kindness and the genuine interest she took in those around her. Our interactions were never just about lawn care or snow removal; they were opportunities to exchange stories, share laughter, and brighten each other's day. She always fit in stories about her family, and how excited she was to see them next. Her radiant smile and warm-hearted conversations will be deeply missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time, and we hope that they find solace in knowing that Sushma touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. We will miss our regular visits, but we will forever cherish the moments we had with this sweet little lady who brought so much happiness into our route.
With deepest sympathy,
Nicola, Jordan, & Matteo from the Legendary Lawns Team.

Dear Sanju,Patricia and the children
We are very saddened by the news of Sushma passing away. Sushma was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. We are very sorry for your loss. We had a very good time when your mum and dad came to spend some time with us here in London.. Sushma and we always spoke on the phone ever since. But unfortunately we did not have any contact during her time of illness. Very sad that she has left us but I am sure she is happy where she she is.
