August 30, 1965 – Calgary, Alberta

September 8, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Virginia “Ginny” Clark of Calgary, AB, on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 58 years. Virginia was born in Calgary, AB, on August 30, 1965, and lived in Calgary her entire life.

After Virginia studied psychology at the University of Calgary she embarked on her career, beginning with accounting and administration duties at various large car dealerships in Calgary. From there, Virginia moved into the real estate financing and mortgage administration world where she had a long and very successful career first with Bridgewater Bank and then with Peoples’s Group as a commercial real estate analyst. Virginia also worked for private brokers as an associate at various times throughout her career.

She was very involved in and had a passion for musical theatre from 2007-2013. She produced, directed and performed in numerous productions and had a beautiful singing voice. Some of her most notable and favourite productions were Rent, Wedding Singer and The Drowsy Chaperone.

Virginia accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her time and efforts fostering rescue dogs and cats. Ginny had an insatiable love of animals they were the centre of her world, and she will be sorely missed by Trixie, Jasper, Sadie, Kramer, Cricket and Kevin. They were her reason for being, and a source of immense joy for her.

Being a lifelong Mickey and Minnie fan, Virginia’s favourite destination was Disneyland. This love was sparked by a trip she took with her mom when she was just a child.

She will be most remembered for her beautiful laugh (snort), infectious smile, quick wit, generous spirit and her love of family, (in particular her father Noel).

Virginia is survived by her godchildren, Tiegan Farewell (Jeremy) of Turner Valley, AB and TJ Hurtak (Kathleen) of Okotoks, AB. Virginia is also survived by her brother Daniel Clark (Janis) of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends.

Virginia was predeceased by her mother June Clark, and her father Noel Clark. Thank you to the Foothills Hospital ICU/cardiology staff and the brave work of the EMTs that attended to Virginia.
