I had the pleasure of working with Leni on a couple of projects and running into her around campus. What a shame that she did not have time to truly enjoy her retirement. My condolances to Leni's family. You have lost a truly lovely family member. Christine Horgan (SAIT)

My sympathies to Leni's family. I was a colleague of hers at SAIT. Leni was such a gentle and kind person. She was deeply and genuinely affected by other people's suffering. She took the time to make others feel better about themselves. She made a significant difference in many people's lives.

Leni and I first met in the early 1970's when we were co-workers at Nova Corporation (Alberta Gas Trunk Lines). We lost touch when Leni left Nova, but were re-acquainted in 2004 when Leni came to SAIT. We enjoyed informative, lively and interesting conversations over lunches, and went on day trips to places of mutual interest. Here's a little story: When Leni was a young girl, her father gave her a little stuffy, a ‘sausage' dog. She treasured this little dog; however, the stuffy was starting to show wear. About three years ago, Leni showed me her treasure, and I offered to take him away to repair him. I didn't think she would let me take him but she did. I was delighted to do this for her, and that Leni trusted me with something that meant so much to her. Leni was a caring and dear friend, and I miss her. My sincerest sympathy to Leni's family,
