Obituary of Valerie PEARCE

PEARCE – Valerie Kathryn “Leni” March 21, 1947-Toronto, ON August 1, 2014- Calgary, AB Leni Pearce passed away peacefully at the Santuari Hospice, after a long illness. As a young girl Leni moved from Toronto to Edmonton, then at the age of 17, she and her family moved to Calgary. Leni went to William Aberthart High School where after graduation she attended the University of Calgary graduating with a B.A. in Archaeology. She also had diplomas from Henderson College of Business. Her well rounded education took her to the oil and gas industry where she worked for various small companies before going to Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) where she worked until her retirement in January of 2013. Leni was a very gifted and kind person. She was her Aunt Minnie’s care giver for the last 7 years of her Aunt’s life. Her computer skills like her mind were amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable on many subjects. She will be remembered as a great conversationalist and debater by many. Leni will be dearly missed by her two cousins Larraine Smith, Mesa AZ, Michael Pearce, Baxter ON; her two closest friends Marilyn Friis, Calgary AB and Beth Howarth, Vancouver BC, as well as many extended family and friends. Leni was predeceased by her parents Leonard and Francis Pearce. May She Rest In Peace. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church , 1611 St Andrews Place N.W. Calgary AB. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
