Obituary of Jennifer HILL

Ms. Jennifer Hill, beloved wife of Barry Rubin of Calgary, passed away at Foothills Medical Centre on September 22, 2013 at the age of 57 years. Jennifer was an amazing woman. She was a female chemical engineer when such a career choice for women was very rare. She had a passion for cooking and was a wonderful mother. Jennifer was a talented quilter and fabric artist, routinely winning or placing in quilting competitions and shows. She was also an avid antique sewing machine enthusiast and collector who loved restoring and using century old (and older) treadle and hand crank sewing machines. Jennifer made a huge number of friends over the years, many through her love of quilting and sewing. However some friendships are extraordinary. Louise Klatzel-Mudry, Marcelle MacCallum, Venita Matthews, Liz Dearness, Fran James, and Doug James in particular need to be acknowledged for their unwavering support during her difficult illness brought on by cancer. Jennifer is lovingly remembered by her husband Barry Rubin; her children Charles and Mary Rubin; her brothers Joseph, James, and Michael Hill; as well as her sisters-in-law Carol Geddes, Lourdes Hill, and Barbara Rotenberg. Jennifer was predeceased by her father and mother Henry Desmond Hill and Bernadette Louise Hill.
