We have led the way for cremation in the city of Calgary, being the longest established crematorium in the heart of the City Of Calgary Queen's Park Cemetery.  Keeping pace with the increasing demand over the years, Calgary Crematorium has continually looked to upgrade and enhance our facilities for the families we served.

Meeting Families Needs

Within the last year we have added four 60" TV monitors with a live feed of our large chapel.  This is appreciated by people who attend but prefer not sit in the chapel and when services are very large.  Family and friends now have the ability to be at the service and view the live feed while sitting comfortably on one of our sofas or outside in the beautiful park like setting and view the service on one of two outdoor monitors.  

We have designed our facility around the needs and preferences of the diverse culture in Calgary.  We strive to appeal to your specific cultural, religious and last rites practices.  Our modern, family oriented facility has been created to accommodate large services with abundant parking within the Queens park Cemetery and Calgary Crematoriums spacious parking lot.  At Calgary Crematorium families can safely and comfortably witness the cremation process. Witnessing is vital to many religions including Buddhist, Sikh and Hindu faiths which consider cremation an essential part of their service. For Hindus and Sikhs, tradition demands that the oldest son start the cremation; at Calgary Crematorium this is accomplished remotely by pushing a button which starts the cremation process.

For others, being present as their loved one is placed into the cremation chamber is not a religious ritual but rather a respectful expression of their final farewell or helping them bring some sense of closure.
